I've just managed to get some broadies cracked by sticking them in a propagator for a few days that had been vacated by the first batch of long red florence onions to come up (they were a lot faster than the other onions, though that might be the propagator ... three days for each of the trays seems to have done the trick.... they'll be in pots this weekend then off to the plot and a cloche in a couple of weeks... planted in a block with gaps in it so that I can plant out squash into the gaps come May... if there are any of that batch of broadies left....

I was feeling sorry for all the seedlings out in the cold & put the heater in the greenhouse keeping it at a steady 7 degrees.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”
